"Boyang Mammesa" (The House of Unity) is a masterful conceptual illustration that serves as a visual encyclopedia of the Indonesian national spirit. Created through deep architectural and sociological research, the artwork merges disparate cultural identities into a single, cohesive symbol of unity in diversity (Bhineka Tunggal Ika).
The power of this illustration lies in its multi-layered, synergistic composition. Every element is deliberate, representing a facet of Indonesia.
The Architectural Fusion (A Single Shared Home): Instead of depicting multiple separate buildings, I fused multiple distinct traditional Indonesian roofs into a single, grand structure. This symbolizes that while we come from different islands and cultures, we all share one home: Indonesia.
Main Structure (Left): The dominant sweeping roofline is inspired by the Rumah Gadang of West Sumatra, representing strength and elegance.
Far Left: The distinctive boat-shaped roof of the Tongkonan (Toraja) and the long, communal form of the Rumah Betang (Dayak) are subtly integrated.
Right Wing: The unique, pointed roof of the Traditional Mamasa House (West Sulawesi) and the simple, overhanging form of the Julang Ngapak (Sundanese) extend the structure.
Entrance & Details: The entrance features a traditional Balinese Pura (Hindu temple gate) at the ground level, while the central staircase and the detailed balcony railings are inspired by the elegant woodwork of the Mandar style (West Sulawesi).
The Inhabitants (Diverse Society): The house is alive with a vibrant community, representing the varied people of Indonesia.
Cultural Representation: Figures display costumes from Papua (traditional headdress), Java (elegant attire), and Mandar (specific patterns), among others.
Socio-Economic Diversity: A wide spectrum of professions is present, showing all parts of society working together. This includes schoolchildren (in uniform), civil servants (PNS), a contractor (wearing a safety helmet), and a high-ranking official (Presidency set).
The Central Symbol & Compositional Masterstroke: The most critical compositional element is how the story is told.
The Flare & The Garuda: A central figure, dressed in a Presidential suit, holds up a lighted flare. The resulting plume of pink smoke is artfully sculpted to form the powerful, distinct head of the Garuda, Indonesia's national emblem.
The "Double Silhouette": Crucially, the combination of the grand, fused architectural body and the shape of the smoke plume creates a powerful overall silhouetted form: The entire image, from the base of the house to the tip of the smoke, forms the body and tail of the Garuda itself. This represents the nation, from its leadership (flare/head) to its people and foundation (house/body).

National Landmark: The National Monument (Monas) is visible in the distant background, grounding the image in the nation's capital.
Music & Modernity/Tradition: Two string instruments sit on opposite sides: a modern acoustic guitar and a traditional Kecapi (Mandarin zither). They are of different eras but harmonized, symbolizing a culture that respects its past while embracing the modern.
Color & Spirit: The overall mood is bathed in warm light, with the red flare and the surrounding tones reflecting the Spirit of Indonesia (Merah Putih).
"Boyang Mammesa" is not merely an architectural study; it is a profound artistic statement about collective identity. Through this work, I aimed to demonstrate how deep, systematic cultural research can be transformed into a cohesive, innovative, and emotional visual narrative that speaks directly to the soul of a nation.
